12+ to 15, open 1n.
24+, open 2n.

1d is usually a strong nt, but is used also for gf hands with any 5 card suit.
hands with three 4-card suits,
12+ to 16, open 2c .
17+, open 2d
that was good enough for the roman pairs, but maybe this is better:
with c's and 2 others, open 2c.
with d's and 2 others, open 2d.
prefer 2d with 17+, 2c with 12 - 16. this allows responder to pass with some weak hands, so requires
lho to act immediately, not allowing certainty of delayed action. which range opener has will be
immediately evident from the rebid, if any.
unbalanced hands have a 6-card suit, or 5-card and another suit of 4 or 5.
1h and 1s are longer suit, 12 to 20.

responder will bid 1d if necessary.
a weak two is a 6-card major suit of 8 to 11 points.
